On 9 December 2019, Professor Hans Georg Näder, owner of Bötzow Brewery, will be ceremonially awarded the Ferdinand von Quast Medal for restoring and repurposing the Bötzow Brewery. This award is in recognition of his hard work in reviving the historic site. Since 1987, the Ferdinand von Quast Medal has been awarded annually by the member of the Senate responsible for historic monuments to candidates proposed by the Berlin State Board for Historic Monuments. The medal is a token of honour and gratitude to people and institutions who have made a special contribution to heritage sites and their preservation in Berlin. Florian Lanz from Laborgh Invest, the project management office for the Bötzow site, accepted the Ferdinand von Quast Medal on behalf of Hans Georg Näder. It was conferred by Dr Klaus Lederer, Senator for Culture (Die Linke) and by state curator Dr Christoph Rauhut.
