Founded in 1919 in Berlin, the medical technology company Ottobock was taken over by Prof. Hans Georg Näder in 1990 from his father, Dr. Max Näder, Otto Bock’s son-in-law. Ottobock has always been committed to people with limited mobility. Its products, including wheelchairs and prostheses, underscore Prof. Näder’s conviction that a life with disability must not be a disabled life, which is one of the reasons he consciously positions his products in the midst of life all around the world. Ottobock has been back in Berlin since 2009; more than 400,000 visitors have toured the interactive exhibition in the prominent Science Center for Medical Technology at Potsdamer Platz.
